This was taken at a welcome center on the drive back to my family’s home in eastern PA.  It’s a beautiful drive and I’ve made it enough times that I don’t even need to think about it anymore.  The only problem with that is the CD player in my car doesn’t work so I usually just end up talking/singing to myself for 4-5 hours.  People don’t normally come home with me either so it’s usually a pretty lonely drive.  On the upside, it gives me time to think about a lot of things.

About at the halfway point on my trips home, I usually stop at the welcome center that I mentioned before.  The entire area is beautiful and when you enter PA, you drive along these cliffs that overlook a huge valley.  In the valley is a dam with a reservoir that supplies the local towns with fresh water.  The view is amazing from the overlook that was built there, one of the few places that this is actually true.  No matter when I stop, I always find something to photograph.  Occasionally it’s this tree but each time I like to walk around and try to discover new things to photograph while I stretch my legs.  The only problem is that the drive is starting to get really boring.  Most things along the road are just staying stagnant lately.  I wish there was a faster way to get “home” but there isn’t.  I’m just really tired of seeing the same old things every time I make the drive.  It isn’t that often but I still remember it pretty vividly each time I make it.  The other problem is that it gets pretty stressful on the way down and back up.  There are lots of trucks and a lot of people who really don’t know how to drive, especially around the holidays.  I’m really not looking forward to the drive at Christmas time…
