In Progress
the photographs that I have been taking. sometimes paired with (semi)auitobiographical writing and sometimes by themselves

This is the same welcome center from “X”, just a different section. I was on my way home at Thanksgiving break and in my usual habit, I stopped there to stretch my legs and photograph. It was an exceptionally foggy day and in the mountains, it was even worse. I had 3200 speed film and no film guide in the Holga that I was using. I wasn’t expecting anything to come out but I really liked the results. They needed a bit of work once I scanned them but I liked the ethereal quality that I wound up with. People that I’ve shown it to have told me that they wish there was a person in it. First off, I don’t think it’s appropriate to tell someone you “wish something about their art was different.” But secondly, the fact that there are no people are what make it a good photograph to me. The photograph contains our creations; the fence, the pavilions, even the trees have been placed there by Man. But we are not there, only what we’ve left behind is. I’ve always been interesting what the world would look like aftewr we’re gone. How long would our structures last? What would become of our greatest creations? I want to take a trip through time and just see what’s left after we’re gone. I want to walk through our cities and our former world and be the only being on the Earth…
